Hyundai Card has led the Korean credit card industry by offering a wide range of products tailored to customers’ lifestyles since the launch of ‘Hyundai Card M’ in 2003. Today, Hyundai Card is evolving into a tech company that is gaining global attention based on its advanced data science capabilities.

In 2024, Hyundai Card achieved a groundbreaking milestone by recording Korea’s largest-ever single software export with ‘UNIVERSE’, it’s independently developed hyper-personalized AI platform. Through a data alliance with PLCC (Private Label Credit Card) partners, Hyundai Card is now actively collaborating on its data science platform to reach a combined customer base of nearly 260 million members.

Hyundai Card continues to grow in its core business areas. With exceptional data science and branding capabilities, Hyundai Card leads the Korean credit card market as the only company in the world powered by the dual engines of GPCC (General-Purpose Credit Card) and PLCC. Since launching Korea’s first VVIP credit card, ‘the Black’, in 2005, Hyundai Card has redefined the premium card market in Korea. The company is now further solidifying its leadership in this sector through a partnership with American Express.

The global market is closely watching Hyundai Card’s transformation. Moody’s, S&P, and Fitch, three of the world’s top credit rating agencies, as well as the Japan Credit Rating Agency (JCR), have upgraded Hyundai Card’s credit ratings, recognizing its strong market position and industry-leading asset quality.

In an era of growing internal and external uncertainties, Hyundai Card remains sharply focused and forward-looking. Hyundai Card will continue to strengthen its core businesses, while accelerating growth through the expansion of data science operations.
