Please note that such changes will only occur if at least three years have passed since your card's initial launch.
- Method of notification: Written notice via mail, email, telephone, fax, mobile text message, or other comparable electronic means.

If an agreed-upon interest rate does not exist at the time of delinquency, the following will apply:- Lump-sum payments: The applicable interest rate for a minimum 2-month interest-bearing installment plan as of the transaction date, plus a 3% overdue spread
- Interest-free installments: The applicable interest rate for an interest-bearing installment plan of the same term length, determined as of the original transaction date, plus a 3% overdue spread
- In all other cases, the agreed-upon interest rate will be the higher of the statutory interest rate in commercial activities stipulated in the Commercial Act and the household loan rate of mutual finance businesses*.
This refers to the most recent weighted average lending rate (based on newly originated loans) of non-bank financial institutions, published monthly by the Bank of Korea

Spending Calculation
Calculating the Previous Month’s Spending
- The previous month’s spending is calculated as the total sum of lump-sum and installment payments made with the Hyundai Card M (primary + family cards) from the first day to the last day of the previous calendar month
- Installment purchases and revolving balance transactions are counted toward the spending of the month based on their initial approval date
- Total calculated spending may vary in the event of delayed merchant transaction clearing or canceled transactions
- For canceled transactions, the refunded amount will be deducted from the total spending of the original approval month, not the month the cancellation occurred. If this deduction causes your total to fall below the required spending minimum for that previous month, the corresponding benefits will not be provided
- For delayed-authorization merchants, such as public transit cards, and overseas payments, the transaction amount will be applied to the relevant month based on the merchant billing date
Exclusions from Previous Month’s Spending Target
- Long-term card loans (Card Loan), short-term card loans (Cash Advance), annual fees, other card fees, and interest payments
- International brand fees and overseas service fees
- Taxes and public utility charges (national taxes, customs duties, local taxes, non-tax local revenues, water/sewage bills, fines, penalties, stamp duties, delivery fees, civil document issuance fees, and any other levies imposed by the government or public institutions)
- Purchases of cash-equivalent instruments, such as gift cards, and the purchase or reloading of prepaid cards
- Only payments made with the current Hyundai Card M are included. Payments made with other cards (e.g. legacy Hyundai Card M products) do not count toward the spending requirement
-
M Point Earning Criteria
Eligible Transactions
- Payments for goods and services at all domestic and international merchants
-
For Basic and Extra Benefit earn rates, points are calculated on a per-transaction basis and decimals are rounded to the nearest whole point
- Example: A payment of KRW 4,639 at a domestic or international merchant eligible for the Basic Benefit will earn 70 M Points (4,639 x 1.5% = 69.58, which is rounded up to 70)
Exclusions from Earning
- Long-term card loans (Card Loan), short-term card loans (Cash Advance), annual fees, other card fees, and interest payments
- International brand fees and overseas service fees
- Taxes and public utility charges (national taxes, customs duties, local taxes, non-tax local revenues, water/sewage bills, fines, penalties, stamp duties, delivery fees, civil document issuance fees, and any other levies imposed by the government or public institutions)
- Electricity bills, city gas bills, apartment building maintenance fees, and fees for using automatic payment services
- Private kindergarten fees, elementary/middle/high school fees, university/graduate school tuition
- Purchases of cash-equivalent instruments, such as gift cards, and the purchase or reloading of prepaid cards

- Any transactions where Hyundai Card’s discount services are applied, as well as all interest-free installment payments
Point Earning Timing
- M Points are credited within 2 to 10 days after your designated payment due date or the actual date the payment is completed
- For early payments, points are credited within 2 to 10 days of completing the payment
- In the event of late payments, earned M Points will be available to view 10 days after the overdue amount is paid
Effective Period
- M Points are valid for 60 months (5 years) from the month they are initially earned
- Unredeemed M Points will automatically expire every month on the first Sunday after the 60-month validity period has elapsed, applied on a first-in, first-out basis
- Expiration dates can be found on your monthly statement or on the Hyundai Card website
Point Management Criteria
- M Points are earned and redeemed on an individual member basis, applicable to both primary and family cardholders
- If a member holds two or more M Point-earning cards, points are calculated individually for each respective card
- These points are then combined into a single pooled balance for the individual primary cardholder and family cardholder
- When a family card is used, points are earned and accumulated separately for the primary cardholder and the family cardholder
Other Criteria
- M Points are earned on both partial and late payments
- For partial payments, funds are applied according to our standard payment allocation order
- M Points will be credited for the portion of the balance that is successfully paid and recognized
- For partial interest-free installment plans, M Points are only earned on the specific installments that are subject to interest charges
- When utilizing a separate special agreement service, such as Save Auto (upfront point service), Basic and Extra Benefits will be applied according to the specific earn rates designated for that service
- If a transaction that earned Extra Benefit rate is canceled, the monthly earning cap will be restored by the canceled amount. Purchases in that same month that did not earn the Extra rate because the cap had already been reached will retroactively earn points, to be credited around the 15th of the following month (up to the restored cap limit)

Notes on Card Usage
For overseas transactions (including those at online overseas merchants) made with a domestic & international use card, the transaction amount in USD is converted to KRW using Shinhan Bank’s initial Telegraphic Transfer (TT) selling rate on the date the transaction is received by Hyundai Card. Then, an international brand fee (Visa: 1.1%) and a Hyundai Card overseas service fee (0.2%) are applied and included in the final KRW billing amount. Please refer to the Hyundai Card website for more details regarding international brand fees.
Calculation of Billed Amount for Overseas Spending
*Total Billed Amount for an International Transaction = (USD Transaction Amount x TT Selling Rate¹) + International Brand Fee² + Overseas Service Fee³
1.TT Selling Rate: The initial TT selling rate posted by Shinhan Bank on the date the transaction is received
2.International Brand Fee: (USD Transaction Amount x International Brand Fee Rate of 1.1% or 1.4%) x TT Selling Rate
3.Overseas Service Fee: (USD Transaction Amount x Overseas Service Fee Rate of 0.2%) x TT Selling Rate
Blocking KRW Payments Overseas
When you choose to pay in KRW at an overseas merchant, Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) occurs, and additional fees may be charged. To avoid these fees, always ensure you request to pay in the local currency or USD.
- Website > Benefits > Check Benefits > Overseas Usage Benefits > Lock Overseas Payment in KRW
- App > Menu (Top-Left Corner) > Manage My Cards > Lock Overseas Payment in KRW
If funds are deposited into your payment account after the operating hours (4:00 PM) of the account-issuing financial institution, the automatic withdrawal may fail on that same day due to the institution’s internal schedules, causing your payment to be processed as delinquent.
If you wish to make a payment on the same day after the automatic withdrawal cut-off time has passed, you can do so by using the ‘Pay Now’ feature on the Hyundai Card website or app, or by depositing (transferring) the funds to your dedicated deposit (virtual) account.
(Check the details on card bill payment via Website > Account > Card Transaction > Card Statements or App > Menu (Top-Left Corner) > Card Transaction > Card Statements)
